
What is early year's free flexible entitlement?
Early years flexible free entitlement is an opportunity for your child to join in play based activities in a quality environment to continue their learning at no cost. You may know it as Early Years or Nursery Grant.
When can my child start?
Child's birthday between: Your child can start:
January 1 to March 31 In April after their 3rd birthday
April 1 to August 31 In September after their 3rd birthday
September 1 to December 31 In January after their 3rd birthday
How can I apply?
Hippitots will apply for your child's Flexible Free Entitlement for you once they are registered with us.
What is my child entitled to?
Your child can access up to 15 hours of early years free entitlement per week for a maximum of 38 weeks per year.
Maximum of 15 hours over 3 days per week or 12.5 hours over 2 days per week.
These hours are in term time only.
The minimum hours that can be taken per day are 2.5 hours.
The maximum hours that can be taken per day at Hippitots are 8 hours.

What will my child get from attending free early years entitlement?
Your child will get the chance to access learning opportunities in an environment that will help to extend their skills and experiences, develop their confidence and build on what they already know.
Is the free early years entitlement different at Hippitots than at a maintained nursery?
No, both settings use the same framework (Early Years Foundation Stage) to deliver quality-learning opportunities for your child.
Will I be expected to pay anything towards my child's early years free entitlement?
No. You do not have to pay anything towards early years free entitlement, but you may be asked to pay for additional activities or services such as outings and meals etc. Hippitots will tell you of any charges before your child enrolls here.

Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the pilot, families must be in receipt of one or more of the following:
